Significant NDIS reforms are coming. What the changes mean for your clients' businesses isn’t yet clear. This session covers how to help them prepare.

NDIS providers operate in one of the toughest business environments in the country.

Prices are fixed, the compliance load is heavy, margins are thin, and the paperwork decides whether and when a provider gets paid. These pressures are built into the industry, and many providers have limited experience, resources and suitable systems, exposing their business to risks they may not even see.

Now the sector is changing. The reform package signals a significant shift -160,000 less participants and a 16% reduction in remaining claim values. The impact will be big, but what it means in practice for the businesses you advise isn't settled yet. That's exactly the conversation this session is designed to help you have.

In this session, NDIS specialist and tax agent, Badi Ceren, joins Jarvis Archer and Des Byron of Business Reset who have saved the most NDIS companies using the small business restructure (SBR) process. They’ll look under the hood of NDIS businesses to see how they’re different, the key indicators to check in your clients' numbers, and what to focus on now to help them prepare.

We'll also work through two real case studies for NDIS businesses that got into trouble – an SBR and a legal phoenix and leave with a practical tool to check in on any NDIS client at your next review.

What We’ll Cover

  • What makes NDIS businesses financially different from your other clients and the right questions to ask

  • What the 2026 reforms signal, and how to talk to clients about changes that are still being worked out

  • Simple checks to see whether an NDIS business is actually running well

  • The numbers to check when reviewing a NDIS client's books, and what they tell you before your client does

  • What to focus on with NDIS clients now, and how to frame those conversations

  • Two real case studies: an SBR and a legal phoenix - what went wrong, considering the options, and what the other side looks like

What You’ll Learn

You’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to:

  • Look at the key risk spots an NDIS business must get right

  • Check a client's numbers for the indicators that point to trouble before it surfaces

  • Guide NDIS clients toward the areas to focus on now to get their business in its best shape to face significant change

  • Know what options are available when a client is in difficulty and why coming to that conversation earlier makes a difference
